Job summary

AME Design Group in Downers Grove, IL, is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead the full structural scope for design/build projects across industrial, self-storage, controlled environments, entertainment, multi-family, and other facilities. You will guide gravity and lateral system designs, perform load calculations, mentor staff, and interface with clients and vendors.

PE/SE licensure is preferred; 5–15 years of design experience and strong BIM skills (Revit) are required.

Qualifications

BS in Civil, Architectural, or Structural Engineering.
PE and/or SE licensure preferred; AME Design Group will support licensure.
5–15 years of design experience with increasing complexity.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed structural designs for design/build projects across several project-types.
Design and specify structural systems including load calculations, gravity and lateral system analysis, structural details, and connections for various projects.
Lead projects with supporting engineering and modeling staff to deliver comprehensive structural design packages.
Assist in the development of automated design methods and tools as part of a forward-thinking team.
Interface with clients, contractors, and vendors on technical issues as structural expert.
Participate in budgeting, scheduling, and staff management.
