Job summary

Apex Companies is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to support our infrastructure team in New England, with a hybrid schedule and potential office basis across multiple offices. The role focuses on structural design for water, wastewater, and related facilities.

Ideal candidates hold a PE, 5+ years in structural design, and experience with building and non-building structures, plus AutoCAD proficiency and knowledge of IBC/ASCE 7. A sign-on awaits the right professional.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required. Must be a PE in Massachusetts, or pursue comity within 6 months of hire.
• 5+ years of relevant structural design experience.
• Experience with design of building structures including foundations, tanks, walls, and framing systems.
• Experience with non-building structures including equipment pads, retaining walls, equipment vaults, and site appurtenances.
• Proficiency with structural analysis and design software.
• Knowledge of the International Building Code, ASCE 7, and related codes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Serve as in-house Structural Engineer for planning, engineering, and construction phase services for New England infrastructure projects.
• Design buildings and non-building structures for public and private clients.
• Collaborate with civil/environmental engineers and landscape architects on municipal and industrial projects.
• Provide structural analysis and calculations using various software tools.
• Mentor junior engineers and staff.
