Job summary

TYLin in Rochester, NY is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Buildings team, focusing on structural design for new and renovated buildings. This role requires 3–6 years of experience in structural engineering and a degree in civil/structural/architectural engineering. Licensure is preferred, with strong collaboration and innovative mindset valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering.
• Master’s Degree would be considered an asset.
• P.E. license preferred; S.E. license would be considered an asset.
• 3-6 years of experience in the execution of residential, commercial, or institutional buildings projects as a Structural Engineer is required.
• Experience in historic buildings preservation would be considered an asset.
• Proficiency with computer analysis software (e.g. RISA, SAP, RAM).
• Working knowledge of REVIT.
• Client focused, always striving to give clients the best solutions.

Responsibilities

• Structural design and analysis for a wide range of buildings projects, involving steel, concrete, masonry, wood, and archaic building systems.
• Assisting in the preparation of drawings and specifications.
• Conducting site investigations to document existing conditions.
• Coordinating with staff and clients on projects
