Job summary

RTX, in collaboration with Collins Aerospace, seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to support design, build, and delivery of complex aircraft components. You will perform static, fatigue, and fracture analyses, define repair designs, and collaborate with MRB and cross-functional teams to drive improvements in efficiency, producibility, quality, and cost.

The role offers exposure to multiple programs, challenging technical problems, and opportunities to influence engineering processes and product

Qualifications

  • Degree in STEM with 5+ years' relevant experience, or advanced degree with 3+ years.
  • Experience in static stress and fatigue analysis.
  • Experience with Patran or similar FEA tools.
  • Knowledge of load paths, free-body diagrams and structural sizing.
  • Strong communication across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and customers.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex structural analyses using hand and computer calculations, including static, fatigue and fracture analysis.
  • Define, assess, and document repair designs for metallic, bonded metallic, and advanced composite aerospace structures.
  • Work with MRB to develop standard repair instructions.
  • Analyze repair proposals and prepare engineering reports for FAA approval.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering to identify cost reductions.
  • Develop and implement processes to improve Engineering Production Support workflows.
  • Review technical documentation and provide constructive feedback.
  • Develop or improve engineering methods, tools, and automated workflows.
  • Apply CORE tools and continuous improvement principles to reduce process turnbacks.
  • Communicate findings and risks to engineering leadership, customers, and stakeholders.
