Job summary

Beyond New Horizons, LLC is seeking a Structural Dynamics Engineer to join the Engineering Solutions team at Arnold AFB, TN. You will contribute to sustaining Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts, applying advanced structural analysis and CAD skills within an integrated multi-disciplinary team.

Ideal candidates hold a BS in engineering with 3+ years’ experience in structural design or stress analysis and are prepared to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical/Aerospace/Civil/Structural Eng with 3+ years’ structural design or stress analysis.
• Must be able to obtain DoD Secret clearance and AEDC network access.
• U.S. Citizenship required for employment at AEDC.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis to ensure integrity, safety and performance of components.
• Run FEA using ANSYS to predict structural response.
• Select materials based on properties, durability, and cost.
• Evaluate and refine designs with design teams.
• Analyze external loads and stresses to identify weaknesses.
• Investigate failures and recommend repairs.
• Use CAD to create detailed drawings of components.
• Document analyses, design changes, and project progress.
• Collaborate with engineers, machinists and project managers.
• Stay updated on advances in structural engineering.
