Job summary

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a Structural Dynamics Engineer to join the Engineering Solutions team at Arnold AFB, TN. You will analyze structures, run FEA, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to sustain USAF test operations.

The role requires a BS in engineering with 3+ years of experience or an MS with 1+ year, U.S. citizenship, and the ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance. Competitive salaries and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil, or Structural Engineering with minimum 3 years’ experience in structural design and/or stress analysis, or MS degree with at least 1 year of relevant work
• U.S. Citizenship is required for employment; security clearance to DoD Secret level is required
• Excellent communication and ability to work in a team environment with multidisciplinary engineers

Responsibilities

• Structural Analysis: perform in-depth analysis of structures to ensure integrity, safety, and performance
• FEA: model and simulate behavior under loads using FEA software (ANSYS preferred)
• Material Selection: select materials considering properties, durability and cost
• Design Evaluation: collaborate with design teams to refine structural designs
• Load Analysis: calculate external loads and stresses to assess weaknesses
• Failure Analysis: investigate failures and determine root causes
• CAD: create detailed drawings and models of structural components
• Documentation and Reporting: maintain records and present findings
• Collaboration: work with engineers, machinists, and PMs to align requirements
• Innovation and Research: stay current with advances in structures engineering
