Job summary

SSOE seeks a Senior Structural Designer to join a multidisciplinary team delivering industrial and complex commercial projects. The role emphasizes ownership of structural design work, coordination across disciplines, and delivering plans and specifications on schedule and within budget.

Candidates should bring extensive experience with BIM platforms and a proven track record on manufacturing facilities, data centers, or pharmaceutical projects, with travel as needed across locations including

Qualifications

Minimum fifteen years experience as a Designer with SSOE or nineteen years with previous employers.
Working knowledge of BIM collaboration tools such as ACC/BIM360, Bluebeam, Navisworks.
Experience on Industrial and Manufacturing building projects is mandatory.
Data Center and/or Pharmaceutical projects are preferred.

Responsibilities

Interpret, organize, and coordinate medium assignments with budget adherence and quality control.
Make design decisions independently; input from project manager or architect for complex problems.
Produce finished plans and specifications and accept or reject major items.
Lead as job captain on single-discipline projects; may lead multi-discipline projects.
Prepare or review construction budgets and write scope of work with the customer.
May perform project management and review team work for scope changes.
Travel as required; valid driver’s license.
