Job summary

SSOE is seeking a Senior Structural Designer to join our Toledo-based team, contributing to industrial and manufacturing projects across multiple locations. You will leverage advanced BIM and AI tools to produce high-quality designs and coordinate across disciplines.

The role requires extensive design experience, leadership on projects, and a collaborative approach to achieve budget, schedule, and quality targets. Travel will be required as part of project commitments.

Qualifications

• Minimum fifteen (15) years experience with SSOE as a Designer or nineteen (19) years experience with former employer(s).
• Experience on Industrial and Manufacturing building projects is mandatory.
• Experience on Data Center and/or Pharmaceutical projects is preferred.
• Working knowledge of BIM collaboration and review platforms used on projects.

Responsibilities

• Interprets, organizes, executes and coordinates medium assignments with budget adherence and inter-discipline coordination.
• Makes decisions independently on design problems, with input on unusual problems from senior staff as needed.
• Produces finished plans and specifications and accepts or rejects major items based on quality and field results.
• May serve as job captain on single or multi-discipline projects and support project management.

Associate degree or certification of completion of other post secondary training in engineering or architectural fields
