Job summary

SSOE is seeking a Senior Structural Designer in Austin to lead and coordinate structural design efforts on industrial and manufacturing projects. You will leverage advanced BIM, coordinate cross-discipline teams, and deliver high-quality plans and specifications on schedule.

The role requires independent design decisions, mentorship, and possible project management tasks. Travel and a valid driver's license are expected; relocation assistance may apply for key projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum fifteen (15) years experience with SSOE as a Designer or nineteen (19) years experience with former employer(s).
• Working knowledge of BIM collaboration and review platforms including ACC/BIM360, Bluebeam, and Navisworks.
• Experience on Industrial and Manufacturing building projects is mandatory.
• Experience on Data Center and/or Pharmaceutical projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interprets, organizes, executes and coordinates medium assignments with the overall responsibility for budget adherence, quality control and inter-discipline coordination.
• Makes decisions independently on design problems, practices and methods, but may receive input on unusual or complex problems from the department manager or project engineer/architect for proposed design solutions.
• Produces finished plans and specifications and final acceptance or rejection of major items involving materials, equipment, manufacturer\'s quality and field construction results.
• Completes work on major engineering/architectural projects or total design work on projects of smaller or moderate scope.
• Serves as a job captain on single discipline projects and may serve as a job captain on multi-discipline projects.
