Job summary

Airbus Helicopters, Inc. in Grand Prairie, Texas seeks a Senior Structural Design Engineer to design complex airframe installation packages for new or retrofit aircraft and to create engineering drawings.

You will collaborate across certification, production, and flight test teams, supporting fleet sustainment and STC projects. The role requires a BS in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering with 7+ years in aviation design, proficiency in CATIA V5, AutoCAD, SAP, and strong English

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering (or equivalent) and 7+ years in aviation/aerospace design.
Knowledge of aviation/aerospace design requirements, industry standards and FAA regulations.
Proficient with Microsoft Office; proficient with CATIA V5 and familiarity with AutoCAD and SAP.
US Person under ITAR definition.
Willingness to travel 10% domestically and internationally.
Strong communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

Develop mechanical/structural design models.
Create detail/assembly/installation drawings for structural and mechanical systems.
Review and facilitate engineering package release.
Lead groups of engineers and represent the group at management meetings.
Work independently with minimal supervision.
Ensure work meets company objectives.
