About the Role
iParametrics is seeking a Structural Senior Design Engineer to join our team supporting high-impact industrial and federal sector projects. This position serves as a technical lead, providing oversight for structural engineering activities across all project phases, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and quality. You will guide project teams, solve complex structural challenges, and drive technical excellence through design, construction, and delivery.
Responsibilities
Serve as Area Lead Engineer, supervising and mentoring other engineers and designers.
Develop, review, and approve structural specifications, design criteria, calculations, and technical reports.
Perform and validate engineering analyses for foundations, concrete, and steel structures, with advanced understanding of wind, seismic, and dynamic loads.
Specify structural systems, equipment, and materials to meet project and code requirements.
Coordinate technical solutions with multi-discipline teams, project management, clients, and vendors.
Ensure project execution aligns with approved scope, cost, schedule, and quality standards.
Support material procurement and subcontracting activities, including technical evaluations and vendor submittal reviews.
Provide field support during construction, including responses to RFIs and field change requests.
Track material key quantities, project progress, and prepare accurate forecasts and reports.
Contribute to project setup, progress tracking, and close-out documentation.
Basic Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship required.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Minimum 10 years of structural engineering experience on large EPC or industrial projects.
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
Expertise in federal, state, and local building codes and standards.
Advanced knowledge of:
Structural design and analysis (foundations, steel, and concrete structures).
Structural design software such as STAAD, STAADPro, and RISA-3D.
Engineering calculation tools like Mathcad.
Wind and seismic load analysis.
3D modeling and 2D CADD tools in a multi-disciplinary project environment.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across diverse project teams.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Qualifications
Experience supporting EPC projects for the U.S. Department of Energy or other federal agencies.
Experience with nuclear facilities and compliance with ASME NQA-1 standards.
Advanced knowledge of material commercial availability and cost.
Practical field experience on construction sites.
Demonstrated ability to manage large, complex projects through all lifecycle stages.
Proficiency in project scheduling, forecasting, progress tracking, and close-out processes.
