Description

• As a member of the structural design team, this position offers the opportunity to collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering and design project teams to develop structural physical layout drawings in 3D models.
• Responsibilities include designing structural supports and foundations, troubleshooting, and resolving various structural design issues.
• Utilize 3D modeling software to generate structural schematics.
• Lead the coordination of detailed design phases for an integrated structural design model.
• Coordinate and guide other designers and project team members to ensure complete and timely delivery of designs.
• Plan and execute structural design deliverables independently and as part of a team.
• Potentially assist senior designers and engineers with field walkdowns and data collection at client facilities.
• Mentor less experienced drafters and designers.

Qualifications

Essential skills and experience include:

• An Associate's Degree in drafting or a high school diploma with relevant coursework or technical experience.
• 10+ years of detailed design experience in structural steel and reinforced concrete drawings.
• Proficiency with 3D plant layout modeling software.
• Experience reviewing structural layout drawings involving steel, concrete, supports, and rebar detailing.
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and design teams.

Valued but not required experience:

• Proficiency with MicroStation.
• Associates Degree in Computer Aided Design.
• Experience with AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Knowledge of technical design principles, plans, blueprints, and models.
• Understanding of engineering science and technology applications.
