Job summary

STV is seeking a Senior Structural Design Engineer for the Transportation group in New York, NY, based in the Empire State Building office. The position involves design of new bridges and rehabilitation projects, QA, and mentoring entry level staff.

You’ll work on highway and railroad structures and coordinate with design-build pursuits in New York. Responsibilities include contract document production, load rating analysis (LRFR/LFD), and ensuring compliance with NY agencies such as

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required; Master’s preferred.
• PE license required; NY licensure preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of bridge design/rehabilitation experience.
• Experience with NYCDOT/NYSDOT/Port Authority projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze new and existing bridges, including rehabilitation and seismic retrofit.
• Lead design-build projects and pursuits.
• Perform quality assurance on transportation projects.
• Prepare contract documents, drawings, and specifications.
• Bridge load ratings using LRFR and LFD.
• Review construction phase submittals.

STV currently has openings for Senior Structural Design Engineer in our Transportation group based in our Empire State Building office in New York, NY.

We are seeking a Senior Engineer - Structural/Bridge who is an expert in the field, who uses professional concepts in developing resolution to critical issues. This individual will be responsible to perform design of new bridges and rehabilitation of bridges, quality assurance, mentor entry level staff. The work will include highway bridges, railroad bridges, and transportation facilities structures in New York.

Primary responsibilities will include:

• Design & analysis of new and existing bridges, including rehabilitation and seismic retrofit design, and transportation facilities.
• Participating on Design Build Projects and Pursuits
• Perform Quality Assurance on Transportation Projects
• Contract Document production, including drawings and specifications.
• Bridge load ratings using LRFR and LFD
• Review of construction phase submittals

Required Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering,
• Master's degree is preferred
• PE is required NY is preferred
• A minimum of 7 plus years of experience
• Knowledge of New York agencies and projects: NYCDOT, NYSDOT, NYCDCC, Port Authority of NY
• Individual will perform design calculations, develop plan details, quantity take offs, specification writing and other technical report writing.

Compensation Range: $149,671.54 - $171,053.19
