Job summary

STV in New York, NY is seeking a Senior Structural Design Engineer to lead design of highway and railroad bridges, including rehabilitation and seismic retrofit projects in the Transportation group at the Empire State Building office.

The role requires strong bridge design and QA capabilities, mentoring of junior staff, and preparation of drawings, specifications, and deliverables for major transportation facilities in New York.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Master's degree preferred.
• PE license required; NY license preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in structural/bridge design.
• Experience with NYCDOT/NYSDOT/Port Authority projects.

Responsibilities

• Design & analysis of new and existing bridges, including rehabilitation and seismic retrofit.
• Participate on Design Build Projects and pursuits.
• Perform quality assurance on transportation projects.
• Prepare contract documents including drawings and specifications.
• Bridge load ratings using LRFR and LFD; review construction submittals.

Job description

STV currently has openings for Senior Structural Design Engineer in our Transportation group based in our Empire State Building office in New York, NY. We are seeking a Senior Engineer – Structural/Bridge who is an expert in the field, who uses professional concepts in developing resolution to critical issues. This individual will be responsible to perform design of new bridges and rehabilitation of bridges, quality assurance, mentor entry level staff. The work will include highway bridges, railroad bridges, and transportation facilities structures in New York.

Primary Responsibilities Will Include

• Design & analysis of new and existing bridges, including rehabilitation and seismic retrofit design, and transportation facilities.
• Participating on Design Build Projects and Pursuits
• Perform Quality Assurance on Transportation Projects
• Contract Document production, including drawings and specifications.
• Bridge load ratings using LRFR and LFD
• Review of construction phase submittals

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering,
• Master\'s degree is preferred
• PE is required NY is preferred
• A minimum of 7 plus years of experience
• Knowledge of New York agencies and projects:
• NYCDOT, NYSDOT, NYCDCC, Port Authority of NY
• Individual will perform design calculations, develop plan details, quantity take offs, specification writing and other technical report writing.

Compensation Range

$149,671.54 - $171,053.19
