Job summary

Civil Design, Inc. (CDI) is seeking a Structural Building Engineer – Project Manager to lead building structures projects and support site development teams. You will act as Engineer of Record, sign/seal documents, and coordinate with clients and staff to deliver on time and on budget.

We offer an ESOP, flexible scheduling, and a people-first culture. Travel up to 10% is expected; base salary ranges from $120,000 to $150,000 per year, with growth opportunities based on experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; a plus but not required.
• Registered PE in good standing.
• IL Structural Engineer licensure preferred.
• 8+ years of building design experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage structural engineering projects by creating scope and budgets, directing the design, and coordinating work with other staff and design team members.
• Engineer of Record responsibilities including signing/sealing calculations and construction documents.
• Perform structural analysis and design for building structures.
• Serve as a key contact with clients, contractors, and local officials.
• Collaborate with CDI leadership and team to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
• Ensure compliance with CDI’s safety procedures.
• Assist in preparing engineering project proposals.
