Job summary

Civil Design, Inc. (CDI) is seeking a Structural Building Engineer – Project Manager to lead building structure projects and support site development teams. This role involves signing/sealing calculations as Engineer of Record and ensuring projects meet scope, budgets, and schedule.

Based in Collinsville, Effingham, IL or St. Louis, MO, travel up to 10% is expected. CDI offers ESOP ownership, flexible scheduling, and a collaboration-focused culture that values growth and community impact.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (a plus but not required).
• Registered PE.
• IL Structural Engineer licensure.
• 8+ years plus of building design experience.

Responsibilities

• Managing structural engineering projects by creating scope and budgets, directing the design, and coordinating work with other staff and design team members.
• Engineer of Record for project success, signing/sealing calculations and construction documents as required.
• Perform structural analysis and design for building structures
• Serving as a key point of contact with clients, contractors, and local officials.
• Displaying an eagerness to work on a wide variety of project types.
• Assisting in the preparation of engineering project proposals.
• Working collaboratively with the CDI Operations Leader, Project Development Leader, Project Engineers, and other team members to deliver projects on schedule and budget.
• Ensuring compliance with CDI’s safety procedures.
