Job summary

LJB Inc. in Kernersville, North Carolina, seeks an experienced Structural Bridge Engineer – Project Manager to lead and grow our Transportation Practice's bridge projects from the Kernersville office.

This role will manage project scope, fees, profitability, and serve as the primary client contact while coordinating with sub-consultants and internal teams. A strong civil/structural background and DOT experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
• P.E. license is required.
• 10+ years of experience in consulting or engineering.
• Experience working with DOTs.

Responsibilities

• Management of project scope, fees, and profitability for individual projects and project portfolio.
• Serve as point person and firm's contact with clients as project manager.
• Assist in new sales with clients for which they are managing projects.
• Coordinate internal transportation disciplines with sub-consultants and clients.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Understand transportation disciplines and requirements for bridge design projects.
• Assist Deputy Operations Manager in PM best practices.
• On larger projects, may not be directly involved in design.
• Report employee performance on projects to Operations Management.
• Provide input on future projects to help staffing decisions.
• Support informal development of other employees.
• Other duties as assigned.
