LJB Inc. in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Senior Structural Bridge Engineer to support and grow our Transportation Practice. You will lead bridge design efforts, develop bid packages, and maintain strong client relationships with DOT and local governments.

Applicants should have 10+ years of bridge design experience and a P.E. license, with a preference for an MS degree. This role emphasizes leadership, coordination across teams, and active involvement in transportation organizations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a structural emphasis is required.
• P.E. license is required.
• 10+ years of bridge/culvert design experience.
• DOT bridge design experience and familiarity with DOT guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering design tasks for bridge projects from preliminary to final design.
• Develop specifications, cost estimates, and prepare final bid packages.
• Interact with client technical staff and project managers, especially DOT/local governments.
• Provide design services for traditional and design-build bridge projects.
• Mentor and assist junior engineers in developing final design plans.
• Coordinate design activities and meetings between design staff, subcontractors, and client managers.
• Contribute to project decisions on technical approaches, cost, and schedule.
