Job summary

LJB Inc. seeks an experienced Senior Structural Bridge Engineer in Raleigh, NC to advance our Transportation Practice. You will design bridges from concept to delivery, prepare specs and cost estimates, and liaise with DOTs and clients to ensure quality and on-time performance.

You will mentor junior engineers, lead design teams, and contribute to project scheduling, budgeting, and coordination with multidisciplinary staff. LJB is an equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a structural emphasis.
• P.E. license required.
• 10+ years of bridge/culvert design experience.
• DOT bridge design experience and knowledge of DOT guidelines and plan prep.
• Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD and Bridge Evaluation manuals.
• MS degree preferred; established DOT/municipal relationships are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform bridge project design from preliminary to final design.
• Develop specs, estimates, and bid packages.
• Coordinate with DOTs, municipalities, and client teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead design reviews.
• Assist with project scheduling, budgeting and cost tracking.
• Lead and participate in transportation organizations.
