Job summary

LJB Inc. in Kernersville, NC is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Bridge Engineer to lead bridge design for our Transportation Practice.

You will coordinate with client teams, DOT staff, and project managers to deliver design-bid-build and design-build projects while mentoring junior engineers. The role requires a PE license and 10+ years of bridge design experience, with emphasis on structural integrity, quality, and schedule adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a Structural emphasis.
• P.E. license.
• 10+ years of bridge/culvert design experience.
• DOT bridge design experience and knowledge of guidelines.
• AASHTO LRFD knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering design tasks for bridge projects from preliminary to final design.
• Develop specifications, cost estimates, and prepare final bid packages.
• Coordinate design activities with DOTs, municipalities, clients and staff.
• Mentor and assist junior engineers in developing final design plans.
• Lead project decisions on technical approaches, cost, and scheduling.
• Participate in leadership positions in transportation organizations.
