Job summary

Forsgren Associates, Inc. is seeking a motivated Structural Bridge Engineer to join our growing Structural Engineering Department in Idaho.

You will contribute to the design, analysis, and delivery of transportation structures such as bridges and culverts, under supervision when needed, while taking ownership of structural tasks and coordinating with internal teams and clients. You will work on projects across Idaho, collaborating with ITD and LHTAC, with opportunities to lead smaller projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or related field required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible structural design experience.
• Experience in concrete, steel, and/or prestressed concrete bridge design preferred.
• Working knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.
• Familiarity with ITD and/or LHTAC standards, specifications, and design practices preferred.
• Experience with structural analysis software such as CSiBridge, SAP2000, LPILE, or RISA3D.

Responsibilities

• Plan, analyze, and design transportation structures, including calculations and reports.
• Prepare plans, specifications, and PS&E packages.
• Perform bridge load rating.
• Conduct structural modeling and analysis using industry-standard software.
• Prepare engineering reports and memoranda.
• Review shop drawings and provide construction-phase support.
• Assist with or lead construction cost estimation and quantity takeoffs.
• Ensure designs comply with codes, standards, and permitting requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Support projects for Idaho transportation agencies and local clients (ITD, LHTAC).
