Job summary

Blue Origin, a leader in spaceflight, seeks a Structural Analyst to influence the safety and reliability of reusable space vehicles. You will apply physics-based methods to solve static and dynamic structural challenges, build and validate FE models, and support design trades for separation mechanisms.

Passion for spacecraft structural loads and environmental analysis is essential. The role supports the Lunar Permanence unit and its Blue Moon lander family, contributing to cost-effective access

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace or civil engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in structural analysis of space/aerospace vehicles/structures/mechanisms.
• Solid foundation of structural static/dynamic fundamentals.
• Passion for spacecraft structural/environmental loads development/validation.
• Ability to solve static and dynamic structural problems using physics-based analytical methods (hand calculations, in-house tools, 3rd party tools).
• Spacecraft mechanism/systems analysis preferred.
• Experience with Hyperworks/NASTRAN/ANSYS/Abaqus/LS-Dyna/Matlab is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Solve a variety of static and dynamic structural problems using physics-based analytical methods (hand calculations, in-house tools, and 3rd party commercial analytical tools).
• Conduct acceleration, shock, and vibration analysis.
• Develop, refine, validate, and correlate Finite Element Models to test results.
• Maintain strong fundamentals in structural static/dynamic analysis.
• Support configuration development and trade studies of separation mechanisms.
