Job summary

Blue Origin in Seattle, WA is seeking a Senior Structural Analyst to perform detailed hand calculations and FEM analyses of aerospace structures for production and sustainment. You will develop, release, and support engineering artifacts across the development cycle, and provide technical guidance to design engineers and junior analysts.

The role emphasizes analyzing primary/secondary structures, repair methods, and validation through testing as we transition from design to production.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of structural analysis experience with aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicle structures or automotive.
• Knowledge of vehicle load path and stress analysis of metallic and/or composite structures.
• Familiarity with classical aerospace sizing methods (Bruhn, Niu, Roark, etc.).
• Experience with at least two analysis codes (Nastran, Ansys, Abaqus, LS-Dyna, Optistruct, NASGRO).
• Scripting experience (VBA, Matlab, Python, FORTRAN, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed hand calculations and FEM analysis of primary and secondary aerospace structures.
• Document stress analysis to support release of drawings/documents.
• Provide technical guidance on design concepts and repair methods for metallic and composite structures.
• Support production issues, testing, and mission operations.
• Support cross-organizational teams with input for production activities and configuration development.
• Lead and review analyses for junior structural analysts.
