Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced structural analyst to advance life‑supporting space hardware. You will perform structural and dynamic analyses of pressurized components, support certification, and review peer work to ensure safety and performance.

Responsibilities include identifying safety and weight reduction opportunities, guiding design choices, and coordinating with suppliers. U.S. citizenship or eligibility is required for this role, located in Washington state.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 8+ years in structural and dynamic analysis of pressurized components.
• Experience with FEA tools (ANSYS and/or Abaqus).
• 3D CAD skills with Creo Pro/E and Pro/E Piping module.
• Experience reviewing or approving other analysts' work.
• Expertise in fatigue analysis and fracture mechanics.
• Knowledge of materials selection, testing, and allowables.
• U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Conduct structural and dynamic analysis of valves, tubing, mounts, etc.
• Assess non-linear thermal protection materials, designs, and attachments.
• Support design certification for thermal structural components.
• Provide technical guidance and analysis reviews for designers and analysts.
• Identify safety, cost, and weight reduction opportunities.
• Support configuration development and trade studies.
• Review supplier analyses and qualification efforts.
• Maintain and report on tasks, schedule, and status.
