Job summary

RTX Collins Aerospace in Wilson, NC is seeking a senior Structural Analysis Engineer to lead FEA and hand calculations for complex components. You will perform linear and nonlinear analyses, coordinate with design, test, and manufacturing teams, and deliver clear recommendations.

The role requires a STEM degree with extensive experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency with ANSYS or similar tools.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM with 8+ years of relevant experience OR an advanced degree with 5+ years.
• Proficiency with FEA software (ANSYS Workbench preferred; Abaqus/NX Nastran acceptable).
• Strong understanding of structural mechanics and load paths.
• Experience analyzing complex geometries and assemblies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform structural analysis tasks including FEA and hand calculations.
• Conduct linear and nonlinear FEA to assess stresses and failures.
• Perform static, dynamic, thermal, fatigue, and vibration analyses as project needs.
• Collaborate with design, test, and manufacturing to optimize product performance.
• Create documentation and reports, and mentor junior engineers.
