Job summary
Evergy in Burlington, KS seeks a Senior or Lead Strategic Sourcing Consultant to source, negotiate and contract complex materials and services for Wolf Creek projects. The role supports the Wolf Creek Nuclear Generating Station team on multiple-site spend with high visibility and risk.
You will develop RFPs, evaluate proposals, lead cross-functional teams, and drive value while ensuring compliance with company policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or related field required.
- Advanced degree or CPM/CPSM/CPSC/PMP certification preferred.
- Minimum of four years of progressive responsibility in supply chain or related operations.
- Experience in energy/utilities/manufacturing or construction preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead, source, direct, and negotiate complex materials and services to support business needs and long-term category strategy.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to source, negotiate, and contract for products and services.
- Develop RFPs aligned with business needs, using analysis and strategy.
- Serve as the single point of contact during RFP, manage supplier inquiries, and update stakeholders.
- Develop and execute negotiation strategy, prepare commercial evaluations, and recommend awards.
