Job summary

Vizient, Inc. is seeking a strategic sourcing professional to lead category initiatives across clinical and supplier domains in support of healthcare clients. You will develop category strategies, analyze spend data, and drive savings while collaborating with clinicians, supply chain leaders, and suppliers.

This hybrid role requires three days in-office at Irving, TX, with travel to other client sites as needed. The position offers incentive eligibility and a comprehensive benefits plan.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree preferred.
• 5 or more years of relevant experience required in strategic sourcing, category management, supply chain, consulting, healthcare operations, contracting, and/or related field.
• Experience supporting sourcing initiatives, supplier negotiations, or category management activities across clinical, medical-surgical, and physician preference item categories; experience with contracting and value analysis initiatives preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with experience utilizing spend, utilization, supplier, and market data.
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Healthcare, group purchasing, consulting, or highly regulated industry experience preferred.
• Demonstrated AI Fluency with the ability to independently utilize AI tools to support day-to-day work activities, critically evaluate AI-generated content, identify potential limitations or inaccuracies, and apply appropriate human judgment when making business recommendations and decisions.

Responsibilities

• Develop category strategies and support sourcing of assigned product and service categories.
• Partner to manage sourcing initiatives from identification through implementation.
• Conduct category, market, supplier, utilization, and spend analyses to support recommendations.
• Assist in developing sourcing plans, timelines, stakeholder engagement strategies, and implementation approaches.
• Research market conditions, emerging technologies, supplier capabilities, and industry trends.
• Collaborate with client sourcing representatives, clinicians, and stakeholders throughout initiatives.
• Support committees with agenda, meetings, documentation, and follow-up.
• Gather business requirements and identify opportunities to improve quality, standardization, service and cost.
• Provide category insights and recommendations to support decisions.
• Assist in RFIs, RFPs, supplier evaluations, and sourcing event deliverables.
• Negotiate contracts and plan implementation.
• Analyze supplier proposals to identify savings and value-added services.
• Coordinate communications for contract implementation and ongoing management.
• Develop analyses and presentations to support strategic sourcing.
• Monitor industry trends and supplier developments impacting strategies.
• Support achievement of annual objectives.
• Leverage AI tools to enhance productivity and validate outputs.
