Job summary

Cengage Group is seeking a Strategic Account Director in North America Higher Education Sales to own account strategy, forecast, and long-term revenue growth across CU, EA, and IA programs. You will lead executive-level negotiations, coordinate cross-functional teams, and drive renewals and expansion with senior institutional leaders.

The role requires 5+ years in educational or enterprise sales, strong analytical and communication skills, and a deep understanding of higher-ed decision

Qualifications

• BA or BS degree required.
• 5+ years of successful educational or enterprise-level sales experience.
• Ability to own and complete strategic account plans with long-term revenue accountability.
• Strong background in high-level negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex contract negotiations with senior academic and administrative leaders.
• Own the overall account strategy and forecast for each institution in the territory.
• Develop multi-year growth, retention, and expansion plans aligned with institutional priorities.
• Identify high-impact opportunities and align Cengage value with budgets and retention goals.
• Drive renewals and upsell opportunities in partnership with Solutions Specialists.
• Articulate the value proposition for institutional priorities like affordability and student success.
