Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and five years of site development or heavy construction experience.
• Fundamental understanding of Civil Engineering technology for road design and stormwater.
• Knowledge of roadway construction, site development, and inspection.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct biweekly project manager meetings to ensure scheduling goals.
• Inspect, supervise, and manage stormwater infrastructure.
• Investigate drainage issues and evaluation of solutions through design, bid, build.
• Assign engineering staff to regulated drain projects and prepare bid documents.
• Administer contracts, change orders, and final payments.
• Review plans for constructability, watershed impacts, and regulatory permits.
• Attend Drainage Board meetings and coordinate with municipalities.
• Gathers field data using surveying equipment and maintains GIS data.
• Maintain engineering files and historical document archives.
• Supervise office staff and coordinate with the Deputy Surveyor.
