Job summary

Anthropic seeks an experienced Storage Architect to design, build, and operate a large-scale distributed storage system across multi-cloud environments. You will own architectural decisions, ensure security and reliability, and partner with research, training, and infrastructure teams to scale storage for Claude and future workloads.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, building, and operating a large-scale distributed storage system in production.
• Experience operating critical infrastructure at scale, including security, on-call, and incident response.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with cross-org alignment on technical direction and user-facing needs.
• Deep understanding of storage fundamentals: replication/erasure coding, durability, high availability, security, and multi-region access.

Responsibilities

• Own high-stakes architectural decisions and deliverables for secure, fast data access across infrastructures.
• Collaborate with CSPs, networking, and data center teams on storage primitives and scalability.
• Translate user needs into scalable system designs and drive cross-functional alignment.
• Lead large migrations of critical workloads with minimal user disruption.
• Stay hands-on in code and production to maintain reliability and performance.
