Job summary

Advocate Health in Wisconsin is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to join our team in Milwaukee. You will process and sterilize surgical instruments, ensuring sterility and proper handling of high-cost equipment.

The role requires 2 years of Sterile Processing or Central Supply experience, a high school diploma, and certification readiness. Work is Monday–Friday with 40 hours weekly, potential weekend rotation, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 2 years of Sterile Processing or Central Supply experience
• Experience with surgical instruments and implants preferred
• Knowledge of AORN and AAMI standards

Responsibilities

• Receive soiled items, sort, rinse, and reassemble trays; perform safety checks
• Sterilize instruments using aerator, gas, or steam sterilizers and perform QA testing
• Care for high-cost instrumentation and implants (laser instruments, implants, endoscopes)
• Build case carts and manage requisitions; respond to Code 4s with defibrillator and supplies
• Check incoming trays and follow up on missing instruments or parts
• Mentor Sterile Processing Technicians and coordinate with other departments
