Qualifications

• Typically requires 5 years of supervisory experience in Central Service or Materials Management.
• CRCST certification must be obtained within 1 year.
• High school diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Provides daily work direction to staff, including scheduling, assignments, staff development, and performance evaluations.
• Coordinates and schedules instrumentation needs for all surgical procedures.
• Coordinates sterile processing services to meet instrument needs of user departments and maintains communication to resolve problems.
• Acts as liaison between Sterile Processing and OR staff, management and surgeons to ensure effective communication.
• Maintains inventory to provide adequate surgical instrumentation sets for the OR.
• Collaborates with OR management to coordinate instrument repairs and purchases.
• Implements and monitors standards for sterilization and decontamination per Infection Control, JCAHO, AORN and OSHA.
