Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Tech Senior to ensure instruments and supplies are properly prepared, sterilized, and ready for use in the OR and other areas. Under supervision, you assemble case carts, serve as a technical resource for Sterile Processing Technicians, and help maintain OSHA/TJC compliance while protecting patient confidentiality.

Schedule may include rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays; required CRCST/CSPDT/CST/TS-C/CORST

Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician or prior Surgical Technician experience.
• CRCST, CSPDT, CST, TS-C or CORST certifications required or in process.
• High School Graduate or equivalent; IAHCSMM course preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and prepare instrument sets and case carts.
• Decontaminate and sterilize instruments per procedure guidelines.
• Serve as a technical resource to Sterile Processing Technicians.
• Rotate shifts and holidays as needed; leadership in supervisor's absence.
