Job summary

VCU Health Chesterfield Pavilion seeks a Sterile Processing Technician to manage decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments. You will supervise staff, ensure compliance with infection control standards, and maintain a safe, organized sterile processing area at the ambulatory surgery center.

Minimum three years sterile processing experience required; CRCST/CSPDT/CST/TS-C or CORST certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have CRCST/CSPDT/CST/TS-C or CORST certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management, Business Administration or closely related field preferred.
• Completion of the IAHCSMM curriculum preferred.

Responsibilities

• Decontamate, assemble and sterilize surgical instruments and supplies.
• Supervise and train Sterile Processing staff and ensure staffing adequacy.
• Ensure compliance with accreditation and infection control standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and proper inventory of supplies.
• Rotate shifts and adapt schedules to meet staffing needs.
