Job summary

Keck Hospital of USC in Los Angeles is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician II to decontaminate, assemble, and sterilize reusable surgical instrumentation under supervision. You will maintain inventory and document processes per SOPs and IFUs.

The role requires operating autoclaves and hydrogen peroxide sterilizers, training other staff, and coordinating with OR and other departments to ensure timely case cart readiness; prior SPD experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent.
• Sterile Processing certification current.
• 1 year Sterile Processing experience.
• Completion of a Sterile Processing Program or accredited Surgical Technician program, or 3 years of Sterile Processing Tech experience.
• Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) or obtain within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and package instrument sets per protocols and IFU.
• Operationally check instrumentation for functionality and cleanliness.
• Disassemble, wash, decontaminate, and load washers per IFU.
• Operate and maintain sterilization and disinfection equipment.
• Maintain sterilization documentation and QA records.
• Dispense sterile instrumentation to OR and Sterile Storage.
• Train other Sterile Processing Technicians and assist as needed.
