Job summary

Keck Hospital of USC is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician III to support decontamination, assembly, sterilization and distribution of reusable surgical instruments. You will operate autoclaves and hydrogen peroxide sterilizers, maintain documentation, and troubleshoot complex issues.

The role requires completion of a sterile processing program or accredited surgical tech program, plus four years SPD experience at Keck Hospital or USC Norris, and CSPD/BRCST or CSPM/CHL certifications.

Qualifications

• Must complete a sterile processing program or accredited surgical technician program.
• Four years SPD experience preferred at Keck Hospital of USC or USC Norris.
• Current CSPD/BRCST or CSPM/CHL certifications required.
• Knowledge of IFU protocols and document control.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and package instrument sets per IFU and count sheets.
• Disassemble, wash, decontaminate, and load automated washers.
• Operate sterilizers and maintain sterilization documentation.
• Distribute sterile instrumentation to OR and sterile storage.
• Train and assist other Sterile Processing Technicians as needed.
