Job summary

Banner Health's University Medical Center Phoenix is hiring a Sterile Processing Technician to support the OR by ensuring instrument readiness and proper decontamination.

This role requires CRCST certification or equivalent SPD experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to work a 4x10 night schedule (Mon-Thu, 8:00pm–6:30am). You will maintain logs, follow IFU, and coordinate with OR staff for timely instrument availability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Sterile Processing Technician OR CRCST certification.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to follow Instructions for Use (IFU).
• Effective communication and teamwork within OR support.

Responsibilities

• Assist with decontamination, assembly, and packaging of surgical instruments.
• Maintain sterilization logs and quality assurance records.
• Identify instrument needs from the surgical schedule and prioritize requests.
• Operate sterilizers and related equipment and ensure readiness for procedures.
• Rotate shifts and document attendance and performance.
