Job summary

Surgical Solutions is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician for a weekend shift, Friday through Sunday, 8am–8pm, to support the SPD in a fast-paced hospital environment.

The role emphasizes high-quality customer service, adherence to sterilization protocols, and collaboration with OR staff. Qualifications include a high school diploma; CRCST certification preferred and must be obtained within 180 days of hire. Prior SPD/OR and customer service experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required.
• CRCST certification preferred; must be obtained within 180 days of hire and maintained thereafter.
• One year SPD or OR experience preferred.
• 2-5 years of face-to-face customer service experience required.

Responsibilities

• Manages the handling and processing of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Requisitions, replenishes, and cleans sterilization equipment and instruments as needed.
• Retrieves and transports soiled equipment and instruments from point of use.
• Organizes, loads, unloads, and cleans equipment and instruments following established protocols.
• Oversees and supports the sterilization workflow from start to finish.
• Builds instruments trays, packages, and supply sets and readies all items for sterilization.
• Processes instruments, equipment, and supplies through sterilization cycles, ensures proper handling and storage upon completion.
• Contributes to quality assurance through biological and chemical indicator testing and routine tray audits.
