Job summary

Allina Health's United Hospital is seeking a Senior Sterile Processing Technician to lead sterile processing operations on permanent night shifts. The role emphasizes decontamination, cleaning, sterilization, and equipment processing following federal and state guidelines.

The Senior role includes technical direction and staff mentoring within the sterile processing area. The position requires at least 1 year in Sterile Processing; preferred certifications include CBSPD or CRCST, and completion

Qualifications

1 year in Sterile Processing area.
Preferred completion of Instrument Specialist/Central Supply program or Surgical Technology program.
Certification from CBSPD or CRCST is required on hire.

Responsibilities

Provides sterile equipment and supplies to surgery and other departments.
Performs decontamination, cleaning, sterilization and processing of supplies and equipment.
Operates washers/disinfectors, ultrasonic machines and sterilizers safely.
Packages, labels and arranges instrument sets and trays.
Mentors and orients new staff in sterile processing.
Completes paperwork for compliant charging and billing of cases.
