Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 2–3 years experience as Instrument Room Technician.
• Minimum of one year in a leadership/supervisor role.
• Experience with all types of sterilizers.
• Knows operating room instrumentation.
• Organized in setting up operating room instrument trays.
• Understands steam/gravity sterilizers and Sterrad systems.
• Ability to prepare reports and keep records.
• Familiar with medical terminology and departmental supplies.

Responsibilities

• Lead SPD department operations and workflow during night shift.
• Precept new hires and provide on‑the‑job training.
• Ensure proper decontamination and instrument preparation.
• Manage instrument room inventory and replenish supplies.
• Maintain implant sets and ensure proper recordkeeping.
• Communicate effectively with physicians and hospital staff.
• Demonstrate dependability, accountability, and ongoing growth.
