Advocate Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician at 37719 Aurora St. Lukes Medical Center - Sterile Processing Services, full-time night shift 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 40 hours per week, with no weekends or holidays.

The role requires CRCST/CSPDT/CFER certification options, a high school graduate, and about 3 years of sterile processing experience. Training, safety, quality assurance, and strong communication are essential in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• CRCST certification issued by HSPA, or CSPDT certification issued by CBSPD, or CFER certification issued by CBSPD.
• High School Diploma required.
• Typically 3 years of experience in sterile processing.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a resource to employees, including training/orienting, directing work and providing input on performance.
• Assists with human resource responsibilities such as interviewing and orientation, staff development, and morale.
• Monitors department operations, establishes work schedules, and assigns daily tasks.
• Receives soiled items, performs decontamination, rinsing, sonic processing, and reassembles trays.
• Sterilizes instruments using aerator/gas/steam sterilizers and performs quality assurance testing.
• Handles high-cost instrumentation with proper care and documentation.
• Receives/collects case carts and delivers to operating room; addresses sterilizer issues.
