Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island seeks a Sr. Associate in Ambulatory Surgery Sterile Processing for ASC Manhasset. The role ensures decontamination, sterilization, and prep of instruments and equipment for daily cases, maintains documentation, and supports department leadership in absence of the Supervisor/Director.

The candidate must have sterile processing credentials, hospital experience, and knowledge of a wide range of surgical instruments and procedures. Strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Certification as Central Sterile Technician (HSPA) or CBSPD CBSP certification required.
• 5 years sterile processing experience in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and assigns workload each shift.
• Ensures all priority and loaner trays are processed for scheduled cases.
• Maintains sterilization and biological monitoring records for regulatory compliance.
• Understands Sterrad Sterilization System and equipment safety.
• Handles contaminated instruments and ensures proper preparation of surgical instruments.
• Provides supply distribution and instrument readiness for hospital services.
