Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island is seeking a Sr. Associate, Ambulatory Surgery Sterile Processing for the Ambulatory Surgery Center Manhasset. The role includes decontamination, sterilization, and preparation of instruments, restocking crash carts, and maintaining regulatory documentation.

The position may require oversight in the supervisor's absence and ensuring readiness for scheduled cases. The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years in sterile processing with HSPA CBSPD or CBSP

Qualifications

High School or GED required.
5 years sterile processing experience.
Certification in Central Sterile Processing (HSPA/CBSP) or CBSP.

Responsibilities

Oversees and assigns workload per shift; ensures priority trays and equipment are ready for scheduled cases.
Monitors biological and sterilization records; maintains compliance with regulatory requirements.
Understands Sterrad sterilization system usage, safety precautions, and equipment compatibility.
Operates washer/decontaminator and manages chemical dilutions as required.
Proper handling and preparation of contaminated instruments and equipment.
Ensures accurate identification and preparation of surgical instruments for hospital services.
Manages supply distribution for the department.
