Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island is seeking a Sr. Associate, Ambulatory Surgery Sterile Processing - HSPA/CBSP - ASC Manhasset. The role covers decontamination, sterilization, and preparation of instruments for the ASC in Manhasset, with oversight in the absence of supervision.

The candidate will ensure proper processing, document regulatory compliance, and support crash cart restocks and supply exchanges as needed.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Certified and Registered Central Service Technician (HSPA) OR CBSP certification.
• 5 years of Sterile Processing Tech experience.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques, sterilization, and infection control.
• Familiarity with a wide range of surgical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Oversees and assigns workload each shift per policies and procedures.
• Monitors biological indicators and records sterilization activity daily.
• Understands Sterrad Sterilization System usage and scope compatibility.
• Handles Washer Decontaminator operations and chemical detergents correctly.
• Prepares and identifies surgical instruments for hospital services.
• Ensures proper supply distribution.
