Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong background in IT or STEM field.
• Excellent communication skills; listening, oral and written.
• Detail oriented and able to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate conversion of course materials into accessible formats for students with disabilities.
• Convert textbooks and materials, communicating with instructors, bookstores, vendors, and online resources.
• Oversee conversion process and provide scanning/proofreading support for timely delivery of accessible materials.
• Meet with students to assess technology-related needs and provide support and solutions.
• Train students and instructors on assistive technologies (Kurzweil, ReadWrite, VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS, FM systems).
• Train new Accessibility Assistants and ensure accessibility guidelines are met.
• Convert exams into accessible formats (e.g., enlarged font).
• Provide support to disability services offices and perform other duties as assigned.
