Job summary

Calpine Corporation in the United States is seeking a Steam Turbine Engineering Specialist III to lead maintenance planning and field inspections across GE D11s, GE A10s, Siemens KNs, and related turbines. You will manage outage scopes, align with safety standards, and drive reliable, cost-conscious performance.

You will supervise OEM and third‑party vendors, verify capital part serial numbers, evaluate test data, and prepare detailed outage and shift turnover reports.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or engineering degree preferred.
• Experience in steam turbine inspection, testing, maintenance.
• 20+ years in steam turbine maintenance, with OEM/brand experience preferred.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Drug screening is required.

Responsibilities

• Promote and lead safety across all tasks and decisions.
• Manage and support maintenance planning and execution for steam turbines, on-site and remotely.
• Supervise OEM and third-party vendors, ensuring safety and quality.
• Conduct thorough inspections and mechanical maintenance, evaluating condition and performance.
• Evaluate vendor test and inspection data to guide maintenance strategies.
• Prepare outage scopes, schedule work, and generate outage reports.
• Coordinate with vendors for quotes and service selections for outages.
• Guide technical teams in specialized turbine repairs and knowledge transfer.
• Innovate inspection, testing, and repair techniques to improve efficiency and safety.
