Job summary

Calpine is seeking a Steam Turbine Engineering Specialist III to support inspection and maintenance of the steam turbine fleet, including GE D11s, GE A10s, Siemens KNs, and SW BB35/65s. Emphasizing safety and accountability, you will lead high-quality maintenance and outage planning within time and budget constraints.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or engineering degree preferred.
• 20+ years in steam turbine maintenance role.
• Experience with Siemens, GE, Alstom, Toshiba and MHI turbines.
• Self-motivated, independent with strong teamwork.
• Commitment to innovation and continuous learning.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Must pass drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Promote and lead safety initiatives in all tasks.
• Plan and execute maintenance for steam turbines, on-site and remote.
• Supervise OEM and third-party vendors with focus on safety and capital part verification.
• Conduct inspections and maintenance evaluating condition and performance.
• Evaluate vendor test/inspection data to guide maintenance decisions.
• Plan and schedule outage scopes and produce outage/shift turnover reports.
• Coordinate quotes and services for outage and maintenance with cost and quality in mind.
• Guide teams in specialized repairs and transfer knowledge while upholding safety.
