Job summary

EMCOR Government Services seeks a Stationary Engineer/Shift Lead in Washington, DC. The role oversees safe, efficient operation of building systems, conducts tours, and manages a team across MER locations, CDC boiler plants, and similar sites. Candidates must hold DC 3rd-class or MD 1st-class engineer licenses and be eligible for an L clearance.

The position aligns with the Local 99 CBA, offering supervision of shifts, log documentation, and collaboration with operations leadership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience operating central building equipment (HVAC, electrical, and plumbing).
• Experience repairing building electrical, plumbing and HVAC auxiliary systems.
• DC 3rd class engineer license or MD 1st class engineer license required.
• Ability to obtain L security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Operate, replace, repair, and maintain mechanical and electrical systems and controls.
• Conduct building tours at MER, CDC, and boiler plant locations.
• Document findings and communicate with chief of operations during emergencies.
• Use Maximo for record keeping and reporting.
• Supervise shift staff and review timesheets for accuracy.
