Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Five years of relevant experience operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, or repairing commercial or industrial mechanical equipment.
• Hands-on experience with boilers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, motors, and related mechanical systems.
• Experience with high-pressure steam systems preferred.
• Reading equipment manuals, operating procedures, gauges, meters, and basic schematics.
• Knowledge of BAS and automated controls preferred.
• OSHA, lockout/tagout procedures, PPE, and safe work practices knowledge.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a maintenance team.

Responsibilities

• Operate, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair Central Utility Plant equipment.
• Operate and maintain high-pressure steam boilers and related equipment.
• Maintain and repair commercial/industrial chillers and chilled-water systems.
• Maintain cooling towers, including fans, motors, gear drives, basins, valves, piping, and water-distribution components.
• Troubleshoot and repair pumps and electric motors, including bearings, seals, and alignment.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and corrective repairs.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control-related equipment problems.
• Monitor equipment through BAS and gauges; respond to alarms.
• Assist with plant startups/shutdowns and major maintenance activities.
