Job summary

Office of the Attorney General is seeking an Assistant Statewide Prosecutor-Senior Attorney to lead criminal prosecutions and provide legal advice to investigative agencies. The role involves evaluating evidence, charging decisions, and collaborating across divisions to pursue civil or administrative remedies.

The position includes representing the State at hearings and trials, handling discovery, and contributing to appellate preparations.

Qualifications

• Membership in the Florida Bar.
• Five years of criminal trial experience.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate evidence for prosecution of criminal cases.
• Submit data and recommendations to the Chief Assistant for intake decisions.
• Advise and assist investigating agencies in investigations and case preparation.
• Make charging decisions in consultation with the Bureau Chief Assistant.
• Coordinate with other divisions and agencies for civil or administrative remedies.
• Prepare and file charging instruments.
• Coordinate surrender or arrest of defendants on filed charges.
• Represent the State at bond hearings.
• Determine scope of discoverable materials and attend depositions.
• Represent the State in pre-trial motions and calendar calls.
• Represent the State at trial and post-trial hearings and sentencing.
• Coordinate appellate matters and assist in record preparation for appeal.
• Recover costs associated with prosecution and investigation.
• Participate in statewide grand jury processes and related meetings.
